Charles E. Buie Obituary- Death, Adams County, Crash: Community Mourns Tragic Death
The community of Adams County is mourning the tragic loss of 62-year-old Charles E. Buie, who died following a devastating two-vehicle crash that also left several others injured, including a young child.
According to preliminary reports, the collision occurred around 3:51 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 84 and Highway 61, a heavily traveled junction. Authorities say a 2024 Nissan Sentra, driven by Megan Miller of Albany, was traveling west on Highway 84 when it collided with a 2009 Nissan Versa heading north on Highway 61.
Buie was among the passengers inside the Versa at the time of the crash. Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported him to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
Also in the Versa were 79-year-old driver Bertha Buie, 77-year-old Virginia Morgan, and a 6-year-old child. All three sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been publicly disclosed.
The driver of the Sentra, Megan Miller, survived the crash and did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is leading the investigation and is working to determine the factors that contributed to the collision. Officials are examining roadway conditions, right-of-way, and other possible elements as part of their ongoing review.
