According to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 10:30 a.m. to conduct a welfare check at a residence in the 8885 block of Edgewater Drive. Upon arrival, officers found the home secure, with no visible signs of forced entry or external damage. While checking the perimeter, a deputy looked through a window and observed a deceased individual inside.
Authorities then made forced entry into the home, where they discovered three individuals, all of whom were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as 79-year-old George Jedrey, his 85-year-old wife Betty Jedrey, and their 64-year-old son Thomas Pinard, all residents of Stanwood.
Preliminary findings, along with evidence recovered at the scene, suggest the deaths may be the result of a suspected murder-suicide involving gunshots. However, investigators emphasized that the case remains in its early stages, and no definitive conclusions or motive have yet been established.
