Authorities have confirmed the identity and cause of death of Guerlin P. Caetano, a 20-year-old man whose life was tragically cut short following a shooting in Vancouver, Washington earlier this month.
According to the Vancouver Police Department, officers responded early Saturday morning to reports of gunfire at a strip mall parking lot on SE Mill Plain. Upon arrival, they found Caetano suffering from serious gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders provided immediate medical assistance, and he was transported for further treatment. Despite those efforts, he sadly succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified the victim as Guerlin P. Caetano of Tacoma, Washington. Officials confirmed that the cause of death was complications from a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
At this time, investigators have not identified or located a suspect. Authorities continue to gather evidence, review surveillance footage, and follow leads in an effort to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
