Jack Lee Wilson Jr Obituary- Death, Irondale, Ala., Accident: Community Mourns Tragic Death

The community of Irondale is mourning the loss of Jack Lee Wilson Jr., 79, who has died following a serious single-vehicle crash earlier this week.

According to officials, the crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Kilgore Memorial Drive and Crestwood Boulevard. Authorities say Wilson was driving alone at the time, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Emergency responders arrived promptly and transported him to UAB Hospital for urgent medical care. Despite continued efforts by medical staff, Wilson’s injuries were critical, and he passed away on Wednesday at 4:33 p.m.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity.

Officials with the Irondale Police Department are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. At this time, authorities have not released details regarding what may have caused the vehicle to leave the roadway or whether factors such as speed or road conditions played a role.
