Patrick Wells Obituary- Death, Wheelersburg, Ohio, Accident: Community Mourns Tragic Death

The community of Wheelersburg is mourning the loss of Patrick Wells, 66, of Maineville, who has died following a tragic single-vehicle crash along U.S. Route 52 in Scioto County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 1:00 p.m. Monday near the State Route 522 exit. Preliminary findings indicate that Wells was traveling westbound when his vehicle drifted off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene and determined that Wells had sustained serious injuries. He was airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center for urgent medical care. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he later died from his injuries.

Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the incident remains under active investigation. Officials have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, and factors such as weather, speed, mechanical issues, or a possible medical emergency are all being considered.

The roadway was temporarily impacted as crews worked to document the scene and clear debris, but traffic has since resumed. Investigators continue to review evidence as they work to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
