Isaac Helmstetler Obituary- Death, Las Cruces N.M, Accident: Community Mourns Tragic Loss

A tragic crash in Las Cruces has claimed the life of motorcyclist Isaac Helmstetler following a serious collision with a car on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Las Cruces Police Department, the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. on April 22, 2026, near the intersection of Valley Drive and Rigsby Road. Emergency responders arrived quickly to find Helmstetler in critical condition.

First responders worked to stabilize him at the scene before he was airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso for emergency treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he later died from his injuries.

The crash prompted significant road closures, with portions of Valley Drive shut down between Avenida de Mesilla and Boutz Road, and sections of Rigsby Road also restricted while investigators processed the scene.
