Manda Perkins and Clarence Hudson Obituary- Death, McMinnville Cherokee, Shooting: Family Mourns Tagic Death
Authorities in McMinnville are investigating a tragic incident on Cherokee Drive that left two people dead in what has been ruled a murder-suicide.
Police responded to a welfare check at a residence on April 20, 2026, at approximately 4:20 p.m. When officers entered the home, they discovered two individuals, identified as Manda Perkins, 46, and Clarence Hudson, 54, both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Investigators secured the scene and began a full forensic examination. After reviewing the evidence, officials concluded that the incident was a domestic-related murder-suicide, stating that Hudson allegedly shot Perkins before taking his own life. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The McMinnville Police Department, along with the 31st Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, assisted in processing the residence, which remained an active investigation site for several hours.
Authorities confirmed that no other suspects are involved, and the case is not considered a broader threat to the public. However, officials noted that the investigation remains ongoing as they work to fully understand the circumstances leading up to the tragedy.
Residents in the Cherokee Drive neighborhood described the incident as shocking and deeply distressing, saying the normally quiet area has been left shaken by the sudden violence.
Family members and loved ones of both individuals are now mourning the loss as investigators continue their review of the case.
