Ronald Pappa Obituary- Death, Holmes County, Crash: Community Mourns Tragic Death Of Resident
A tragic accident has left the community of Killbuck, Ohio in mourning following the sudden death of 44-year-old Ronald E. Pappa, whose life was cut short in a devastating two-vehicle collision early Wednesday morning.
According to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 4:44 a.m. on State Route 241, just south of County Road 235 in Salt Creek Township, Ohio. Investigators reported that Pappa was driving a 2000 Ford Excursion northbound when the incident unfolded.
Preliminary findings indicate that Pappa attempted to pass a tour bus in a marked no-passing zone near a hillcrest. As he returned to his lane, he reportedly lost control of his vehicle, crossed left of center, and collided with a southbound 2007 Ram pickup truck.
The force of the collision pushed both vehicles into a yard along the northwest side of the roadway. Authorities confirmed that Pappa was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Kevin A. Nussbaum of Apple Creek, Ohio, was also wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
Emergency responders, including East Holmes EMS, transported Ronald Pappa to Pomerene Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.
The roadway remained closed for nearly two hours as deputies processed the scene and began their investigation. Authorities have confirmed that the case remains under active review.
As news of the tragedy spreads, grief has settled over Killbuck. Family, friends, and neighbors are left grappling with the sudden loss, remembering Ronald E. Pappa for the life he lived and the memories he leaves behind.
